Este projeto de pesquisa buscou analisar o processo de seleção e de capacitação do instrutor da Escola de Comando e Estado-Maior da Aeronáutica (ECEMAR). A inserção no currículo da disciplina Metodologia Científica voltada para a pesquisa propiciou elementos para investigar os fatores determinantes do processo de seleção e de capacitação desse docente. Desenvolveu-se um estudo preliminar sobre a Lei de Diretrizes e Bases que regulamenta o ensino no Brasil. O estudo buscou interpretar as legislações referentes ao ensino superior da Aeronáutica e ao ensino superior do Ministério da Educação; comparar as legislações; analisar o atual estágio em que se encontra a preparação do docente para as escolas militares da Aeronáutica; pensar a Escola e as suas responsabilidades institucionais, como organização de ensino superior; debater o desafio de ensinar frente à introdução de novos métodos e o papel do instrutor nesse processo e identificar qual o perfil do Instrutor a ser selecionado pela ECEMAR. Explorou-se a formação do docente militar no Centro de Instrução Especializada da Aeronáutica, seu currículo, carga horária e o nível exigido para cada competência, estabeleceuse, então, uma análise desses conhecimentos. Para discutir o desafio de ensinar e a própria capacitação do docente, o marco teórico foi a visão do professor Paulo Freire. A vasta obra de Freire instigou o pesquisador a compreender princípios e saberes necessários à prática educativa. O educador passa a contextualizar a sua prática de ensino, e considerar o discente um sujeito com uma identidade que, além de individual, é também coletiva. Nos procedimentos de pesquisa descritiva, utilizou-se a entrevista semi-estruturada para a coleta dos dados e, a partir da análise comparada dos depoimentos dos instrutores, chegou-se aos resultados necessários ao complemento deste estudo. Logo após, fez-se análise e interpretação dos dados e comparação com o referencial teórico, passou-se às conclusões e às recomendações. This research project was made to analyze the selection process and capacity of THE AIR COMANDER STAFF SCHOOL Instructors (ECEMAR). The insert of the discipline Scientific Methodology in the curriculum propitiated elements to investigate decisive factors of the selection process and training of the school instructor's. A preliminary study on the Law of Guidelines and Bases that regulates the teaching in Brazil was developed. This study seek for interpreting the legislations regarding to the higher education of The Brazilian Air Force Personnel and to the higher education of The Brazilian Ministry of Education; It was compared: The legislations and the instructor’s current apprenticeship to teach in the military schools of the Air Force. The evaluation of the School and their institutional responsibilities as higher education organization; The challenge of teaching new methods and the instructor's paper in that process and to identify the profile of the Instructor to be selected by ECEMAR. The instructor's formation in the Specialized Instruction Center of the Aeronautics, his curriculum, workload, and the level demanded for each competence. After that it was made an analysis of those knowledge. It was discussed the challenge of teaching and the teacher's own training. The theoretical mark was Professor Paulo Freire's vision. The vast work of Freire urged the researcher to understand the educational practice. The educador gets the context of his/her teaching methods and consider the student as a person with identity that, besides individual, it is also collective. In the procedures of descriptive research, a semi-structured interview was used, to collect data for the compared analysis of the instructors' depositions, to get the necessary results to the complement of this study. Right after that, it was made analysis and interpretation of the data and comparison with the theoretical referencial, then the conclusions and the recommendations were made.
