Este artigo tem como objetivo identificar a contribuição do emprego da mídia na Tarefa de Apoio as Ações de Estado (ApAE) realizando Ações de Comunicação Social (Com Soc) da Força Aérea Brasileira (FAB) no cenário de crise regional desencadeada pela pandemia da COVID-19. A pesquisa foi motivada pelo vulto que a opinião pública tem adotado nos conflitos atuais, tornando-se um diferenciador para aprovação das operações militares. A metodologia empregada foi a de pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, sendo possível conectar os dados secundários levantados sobre a mídia e as Ações de Com Soc na Tarefa da FAB de ApAE. Por meio do método quali-quantitativo nas amostras foi inicialmente levantada a quantidade de matérias publicadas na mídia e as matérias produzidas pela FAB. Posteriormente, foram analisadas as contribuições da mídia em prol da Com Soc e a distinção das Ações de Com Soc com os eventos da mídia. Os resultados permitiram identificar os eventos por veículo de comunicação, os principais domínios de links compartilhados, o engajamento das matérias, o compartilhamento do sentimento, os motivadores e os principais temas em destaque relacionados a crise regional causada pela COVID-19. A Com Soc foi empregada na preservação da imagem Institucional da FAB e no fluxo de informações para a sociedade brasileira no intuito de manter a opinião pública favorável as ações militares. Contudo, não foi possível comprovar, mediante a análise quantitativa da amostra, uma relação da variável independente mídia na variável dependente Tarefa de ApAE realizando Ações de Com Soc Ver menos

Abstract: This article aims to identify the contribution of the use of media in the Brazilian Air Force (BAF) State Actions Task operating Public Affairs actions regarding the regional crisis scenario trigged by the COVID-19 pandemic. The research was motivated by the magnitude of the public opinion regarding the social conflicts nowadays, which has been playing an important role in the approval of military operations. The methodology used on this research was bibliographic and documentary studies, and it was possible to link the secondary data that we found about the media and the Public Affairs actions. Through the quali-quantitative method we first came up with the number of articles published on the media and the articles produced by BAF. After that we analysed the contribution of the media in favor of the Public Affairs and the differentiation between the Public Affairs actions and the media events. The results allowed us to identify the events per channel of communication, the main domains of shared links, the engagement of the posts and the trend topics related to the regional crises caused by COVID-19. The Public Affairs was designated to work on the maintenance of BAF’s institutional image and also to control the informational flow to the Brazilian society, in order to keep the public opinion favorable to the military actions. However, trough the quantitative analysis of the sample it was not possible to prove a relation between the independent variable media in the dependent variable State Actions Task operating Public Affairs actions Ver menos
